Unique Magical Trek through Zavkhan Province in Western Mongolia
We start with our horses from Khyrgasnuur Lake, a huge salt lake, in the Uvs Province in the northwest of Mongolia, riding through endless wide stone desert followed by sand dunes, rocky mountains up to the green wide open steppe and forested hilly landscape to Ikh Uul in the Zavkhan Province.
From Ikh Uul we will drive back to Ulaanbaatar in 4 days and 3 nights to visit sights like Kharkhorin and Khusati National Park with its Przewalski horses.
TRIP SCHEDULE
Day 1: Flight from Ulaanbaatar to Ulaango
Flight duration with a direct flight approx. 3 hours (changes of the flight dates possible) Onward journey with our transport cars to the Khyrgasnuur lake approx. 200km to our camp and horses
Day 2 – 5
Riding through the endless expanse of the stone desert, along rivers with incredible landscapes
Day 6
Riding in the Mukhart river valley like in a fairy tale
Day 7
Desert and rock landscape at 1900 m.a.s.l. to Ulaagchny Lake
Day 8 – 10
Riding between grass landscapes and sand dunes towards Yaruu Sum
Day 11 – 15
The last 4 days alternating between green forested valleys and endless expanses to Ikh Uul Sum.
Day 16
Return journey by car via Tariat, visiting the volcano and spending the night in Tariat in Arkhangai province.
Day 17
Visit to the hot springs. In the afternoon continue to Kharkhorin, the former capital of Mongolia, with a visit to the monastery and museum.
Day 18
Camel riding in the sand dunes further to the famous Hustai National Park
Day 19
Sightseeing of the National Park and its famous Przewalski horses and return to Ulaanbaatar.
(These last driving days can also be shortened if it does not fit with the return flight dates)

Scope of services:
